2017 Kess V2 5.017 No Wake Up Error

Usually, you have Wake Up Error with old Kess V2, esp. Kess firmware 3.099. But now, new kess v2 programmers hardly ever pop up “Wake Up Error” when reading kess software number.

– Here are the files for Kess SD or TF card. Just reformat your card and copy the files onto it.

– Sometimes wake up error doesn’t mean your tool has problem, i use Kess original. when the ECU was tuned and locked. it will show wake up error too …

Please be specific what car, ECU you working with. its difficult to tell whats wrong here …

– Maybe conflict in drivers if you have other tools on your pc, try to remove other drivers,and reinstall only kess drivers, have work for me one time

– Firstly try installing genuine software 2.20 will be fine, once installed then un-install it! Use your software (no point going past 2.08/2.11) if it still gives wake error try removing battery in vehicle for 30 mins and try again, or in ‘tools’ slow the read speed down to minimum! if still no joy just take it out and do it on the bench!

It works well and it is a cheap Clone in China.If people want to rework, they can buy some Murata Filters.

I have a fiat edc17c69 virgin (without software inside), this I can’t read.

In these day I must read a Toyota with nec, when I read post results.

Ktag haven’t token, I read more than 30 ecu and work the same.

make sure you remove the fan plug from fan controller when writing on this cars. when flash is erased the fan will work on max speed .

ktm100 can make edc17c64. where to find fake firmware v7.003 to upgrade v6.070, then there is posible to make edc17c64 on eu clones.

ktag and dimsport ktm100 is the same hardware with separate software.

There is no Update from version 6.070 to 7.003, because Board is different, Board is from Dim Sport, and Software too.

My friend have Ktag v7.003 clone and he made edc17c64 without problem.

Just received the Ktag fw 7.020, saying it’s the newest ktag china clone and supports more ECUs like Toyota 76FXXX, PSA 17.4.4, Ford E83, VW 17.5.5 (1766), Mercedes-Benz 276ECU, Toyota 76F, etc. I will try it tomorrow and report here.

I confirmed my ktag 7.020 good… works with cars, motorcycles and trucks.

How to change voltage in USB UPA V1.3

This is Tutorial is from obdexpress.co.uk office blog how to raise voltage from 3.3v to around 3.7v for a UPA-USB device programmer as 3.3 don’t read some chips and 4.8 is too high for some.

 

Purpose:

Raise voltage via UPA USB V1.3

 

Device used:

UPA USB V1.3 hardware test pass 100%

 

Reason for voltage change:

reading s93a66…. fine but wanted to transfer data to 93c66 and wouldn’t read or write on 93c66 until I set jumper to 4.8v

 

UPA programmer voltage:

Options in program are only 3.3v or 4.8v controlled by jumpers

 

 

Optional solutions:

 

Check jumper 3.3V/ 5V

There are two series diode to drop 5v to 3.3v around 5/3.3v jumper. Try to make short to one of them now the 3.3v setting will raise about 0.6v but don’t know if the voltage monitoring circuit will report a problem!
or check the variable resistor in the UPA USB programmer

It used to have a component marked N1 which was a fuse

It protect 5V power from top board to bottom board
when have the short circuit, it ‘ll change resistor first to protect other item.
After that, we need change it. can use fuse instead it
